Well Ive seen a few people on here with cheaper stuff trying to produce big numbers. Or atleast respectable numbers, And some have done so.

.

I searched around on here for reviews with the MA Audio MA150XE 15" D4's. And On here found nothing really accept one guy saying He seperated the VC's. A couple good reviews online, But just not much info.

$50 a piece and $10 to ship. So I figured why not try them.

The plan is to run the 15's in a 7.3^ box, Two 6"roundx10"Long ports tuned to 36 hz. Its a daily driver didnt want it tuned real high.

Pictures of Box -Note- 10" Round port gone.... Old 15" AB's VFLs

There going to be ran off a Tsunami db1100 Amp at 1ohm

(also read some reviews seems people have had problems keeping them stable at there 1ohm *rating* hope this one doesnt have the problem being stable at 1)

Have a stinger dry cell battery holding a good charge.(last time I checked) And just 4g wireing for now. And eclipse cd2000 will feed everything.

This will all be in a 95 Chevy 1500 X-cab. This is where I will need your help. Ive been told to face the speakers forward, ports to the side. What do you all recomend?

Port's up/subs front? subs firing back/ports? and so on and so on. Never had and ex-cab I was trying to get a decent number out of. I dont really think It will get to loud. But I can hope. Maybe a mid 140?I have a hole $250 invested in EVERYTHING listed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Anyone have any thoughts? Or opinions on how I should set the box up in the back...? Thanks in advance

Al

Should have Numbers by the first week in July...

Sub up port back like you had it is what I would try first on the meter.
Problem is. This is a Box built for an SUV. So it will be standing up instead of laying down.. I can only face the subs front or back. with it standing.. Ports can go anyway..

What do people think of another *budget build*?

Sub back port back!...This setup makes alot of hatch rattle.

To reduce this, do sub back port up.. It all depends on the car as to which one would be louder on the meter.

Thanks.

Ill try both. sub back/port's back first. If I dont like them Ill reface over the ports and make another hole in the top and try that.

Cheap box easy enough to build another one. But I plan on buying another SUV come winter so the box will be going back into one.

I bet Im being laughed at all over by people on here for attempting this.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I love budget builds!!! I built my system extremely cheap, at least for what you would expect to pay for the equipment I have. I did some labor for a few people in exchange for some equipment. The only things I bought outright were my deck, wiring, JBL coaxials, and my subs(which were the most $$).

Please keep us updated on your progress, I got faith in those budget subs!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

For real... I love budget builds.

Nothing like spending

well between the Amp,subs, box material's and wireing. and battery I have about $250-275.

When Im done with these on to another cheap $100 15's to test out. What ever ebay has at the time Ill go buying. ( no legacy, pyle, boss ect tho )

I like memphis flex and his 4 Audopipe's.

Im going to try to do it with just 2 15's in the ex-cab switch out for another set before the end of the year. And maybe 4 15's or 4 12's in an SUV next season. (atleast 2 15's) Just cheap stuff people are like "there crap stay away" And just shock the on-lookers. Or prove there theory correct. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

well it has ALUMINUM VC's , Thats about the only thing good about them I have found in there manual that was sent with them.

Other things it says

Diecast basket for better alignment and no megnetic responce. Also desspipates heat faster then steel.

WATERPROOF. (cause I play speakers in water I guess? )

Dual laminated progressive spirder.

Foam surround.

Thermo cooling motor structure.

Double stacked magnets.

Its calling for a 4^3 box with 6X13 port. tuned to 34hz.

Update:

Everything installed. accept the ports. the holes are cut for the ports but every where was closed to get the 6" port. let them hit a couple times in the box all open they do pretty well. Ill get more after the ports are installed and its tuned correctly.

Box Is now going to be tuned at 35 instead of 36. No big change really. subs are faceing up and ports are also faceing up ( 4 ports 4"x12") or will be. Adding the ports this week. Once there in the box Ill get some vid's and post. Might suprise some of you.

1 week with these sub's and one is making a noise. $100 for the *Average* user this would be great. For someone who is pushing 1000+ watts trying to get loud. Not so great. Sounds good, til you try to get them louder, and any amount of tuning at the higher volumes just wouldnt help. They Doent have any exscursion.

Thinking of re-facing my dual 15" box for a single 18" RE SX.

Just to let everyone know. I did a 144.8 with these Subs today( THE MA AUDIOS) One was half way blown (coils rubbing still registering 2.0 ohms tho) the other one was fine. I peaked at 54hz.

On Monday (as long as UPS delivers it then) The new box and 18" RE SX will be going in.(@ 1ohm) And there will be new numbers for that on July 27th.
