so today, i went over to a buddies house, and when i got there i turned off my headunit. we then drove around a bit, and then i basically dropped him off. as i was leaving, i turned my HU back on, and much to my dismay, i had 0 bass. i reached back and put my hand on one sub, to see if there was ANY movement, and there was none. i pulled over and made sure all the wires were still connected and they were.
back at home, i pulled the fuses, and two of the four were blown. i went to checker, got more, and when i went to put on in, it sparked when i touched the terminal. i happened to have the allen wrench that came with the amp with me, so i disconnected the ground and put the fuses in, then reconnected the ground. i turned the key to 'on' and the HU started up, and i heard the fuses pop. i asked the guy at the checker to test the circuit for me, and even with the car totally off, it was reading 12ish volts, whereas before it would only read that when the car was 'on' (and with the engine running it always read 14ish volts). i called up alpine but the customer service and the tech help were closed, so what do you guys think?
if it helps any with the diagnosis, its one m-1005 powering two 12" type Rs
