Amazing Spectacle: Total Lunar Eclipse Monday Night - Yahoo! News
The last total lunar eclipse occurred on Feb. 20 to Feb. 21, 2008.For the next total lunar eclipse that will be visible across all of North America, we must wait until April 14 to April 15, 2014.
Here’s Nasa with the details: “The eclipse begins on Tuesday morning, Dec. 21st, at 12:33 am CST (Monday, Dec. 20th, at 11:33 pm MST). At that time, Earth’s shadow will appear as a dark-red bite at the edge of the lunar disk. It takes about an hour for the “bite” to expand and swallow the entire Moon. Totality commences at 01:41 am CST (12:41 am MST) and lasts for 72 minutes.”
The real show will be during “totality” where the earth’s shadow will completely cover the moon.
