Lowes FTW!!! Had a guy I was stationed with that worked there like 1-2 days a month and got both the military discount and employee discount. Was 15% off each. I just gave him the money and got everything really cheap. When I get back from deployment I'm gonna do the same thing and get the discounts and build up my system and house!!

Lowes has 3/4" MDF sheets, that's it, never checked Home Depot... I Prefer Pro-Build.

real tradesmen go to ace hardware. lowes & home depot is basically the same shizz

most of my friends that are "tradesmans" buy mostly from other whole sale and big lot companies(would name some but im not sure if there local or national so not sure if people would even know who they are). I go to ace for stuff because there the only store aside from TrueValue within 20 min, but there overpriced and there selection is small. The one i go to even has a lumber yard and they wanted like $45 for a sheet of 1/2" mdf LOL... home depot is like $30 for a 3/4" sheet. I hate living 20-30 mins from a home depot or at least menards. Told my wife next house we buy has to be within a few miles of one of the big stores.

In about 2-3 months i will finally live with in 5 minutes of one of these stores i can not wait. No more 45 minute drive.

I prefer our locally owned "contractor's supply". My family does construction and gives them a retarded amount of business, so I can get everything for about 15% less than Lowe's or Home Depot. And if they don't have it in stock, they'll order it.
