Loudness feature on eclipse question

I got the eclipse 5425, in the manual it states that loudness adds +10 db boost at 100hz and + 6.5db boost at 10 khz i was wondering if its a big curve cause when i use loudness i get alot more low end that doesnt sound near 100 hz or should i just turn off loudness on the deck and raise the gains and get a smoother responce.

Honestly it's all personal preference. See if you like how it sounds each way and decide which you like. Some people hate that feature while others appreciate it. It has been a feature on **** near every head unit ever made so I guarantee you that there's plenty of people who use it.
