loud subs!

ok, i know ive been asking a lot of ?'s lately, but i just want to make a decision on my next sub, and i dont wanna screw it up and have to sell the sub in a few weeks...ive been running a Kicker L7 in a 2.75cu ported box and hit 147.4 w/ a jbl1200 hooked up to it...so now its time to retire the kicker and step it up...ive looked into the idmax, but people say theres lots of problems...the same goes for the elemental designs a series subs...both seem great and have huge...HUGE xmax specs...both in the mid-high 20's (mm's)! while the kicker has a square cone, and therefore larger cone area, its xmax is only 13.2mm i believe...

SO

by taking these specs into consideration...shouldnt the idmax and ed a series..(and adire audio brahmas-which im seriously considering...besides the killer price) all blow the kicker out of the water when it comes to spl? they should, theoretically be able to push almost twice as much air, because their throw is alost twice the kickers'...so do you think that these subs would kill the L7 12 in spl (w/ spec boxes or bigger possibly, and power that meets the rating of the sub)? i think they should, but i just need confirmation on this...cuz i dont wanna go out and spend some 350-450 bucks on a sub just to be disappointed

for sq i'd say the idmax, eda series

sql eda series, re xxx, brahma, H2, HCCA, w7

spl DD 9512/15, juggernaut, ssx, csx

wait, so the XXX isn't really a SPL sub? a 15" XXX will hit really deep and loud though, right?

it is a sq sub.it gets LOUD...louder than ull want.it hits nice and deep.the bass just envelops you as you sit in the car.it wraps around you like a blanket of air

AND...the magnum d2's seem pretty realistic rite now...but how much power will i send to them? u guys say that they can take a lot, but can they also run on not THAT much? like if i run two of em off a jbl1200.1...ported...will it be loud?

the 15" XXX is 399+sh and the 12" is 379+sh

also people are having some problems with there brahmas as far as reliablity is concerned. with dustcaps falling off and shit.

2 mags in bout 4-5cube ported at like 30-35hz would most defintiely wang! They are EXTREMELY efficient, the rms on the site iof 600 watts is all that is needed to get them to perfomr very well, though they can take MUCH more. I've had only about 300watts a piece going to mine for about a month now, and the sound fine. Can't wait till i have 1200+ watts rms going to each one! peace

idmax you can give 600 watts and thats' all the more they'll need to be loud...they will handle more though .not sure on box sizes

eda.....anything around 1000 watts and they pound.....don't go overboard w/ power that you won't need on these...they can go ported or sealed...and don't need a huge box....4cu ported would be PLENTY big for a single a

xxx....anything 1500watts to 2000 and the xxx'll wang....handle's tons of power and likes bigger boxes....doesn't have to be huge though..can be sealed or ported

H2 i know very little about...same with the hcca...i believe the h2 is the new hcca model....

w7....awesome woofer...period anything around 1000 watts will move her nicely...can be sealed or ported and doesn't have to be that big of a box

the last four listed i konw little about but are extreme spl subs....the csx probably having the best sq of the group...but i could be wrong...the 9500's will take 1600watts rms...but i dont' know about the others or boxes
