Loud "Thump"

Hello! Been a long time since i've been into car audio(8years I think). Anyways, i've been getting back into them, starting our with the best you can buy equipment(Sony Xplod:laugh... Like I said, starting out again and wasn't looking to be flying out of my car(yet) cause the pressure was to much.

On to my problem, I don't recall ever having this issue and back then I didn't know news letters, or message boards existed for the hobby so never heard of it either... I installed two more amps for a total of 3(2 for each sub and 1 for the speakers) after doing so I get a "thump" from the speakers and subs when I down the volume down, or the head unit off.

Any suggestions on where to start to solve this? Any questions I need to answer to get this solved?

do you have a switch installed??? i use to have a switch and it made that thump

No switches, im in Creek county

Its the ground,like when you pop off ur HU it just thumps really fast? or put it back on?

id say check the ground i think that was my problem when i had a thump

so the place I grounded the amps is poor.
