Its annoying. I never had it with the stock hu, but after hooking up my alpine it started. I used the factory wires to the hu, but I have a gm vehicle and decided not to use the oem adapter. This left me with no remote power wire, so I found a switched power supply from the dash fuse box, is this my problem? If not what could cause it? I also added a coustic crossover so I could have a bass knob and jumped the remote power from one of my amps to the crossover. TIA for any help, Chuck

i had a pop for a little while, it kinda just went away, but ur problem may be a lil different, but i know what ur talking about, but mine did it for a lil bit, then went away... so it may take a lil time, or someone else can help you with some fixing options

Are you talking about a wiring harness or the box that allows newer GM trucks and SUV's to keep their door chimes? If your taking about the wiring harness then why didn't you get one?

In any case is sound like a bad ground. Check that or re-ground your HU. I installed my HU into my 02 GMC Sierra and never had the poping noise you're talking about.

I used the factory wires to the hu, but I have a gm vehicle and decided not to use the oem adapter.

Mine does the same. We both get it because we are using the fusebox as remote. The head unit is turning on after the amps. So you are getting turn on thump.

Thaqnks for the replys. I didnt use the door chime adapter because I dont want the door chime, and I wanted to save the money. My door chime stoped working about 3 months after I bought my 06 silverado and I couldnt have been happier. I guess if I try to find where I got the remote wire for the amps and hook it up to there,i t might go away, I installed the amps a year ago and just got around to replacing the stock hu. I used the black wire that came out of the fact harness as ground but I guess I should try to ground the chassis to something metal behind it? I thought the antenna did that?

No, always get a better Deck ground. Not always because you have to, but it is the extra insurance from certain symptoms and then you don't have to worry about the ground after you install and then you're troubleshooting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
