Loud Humming from subs

I have a JL 500/1 with 2 W3v2's, Whenever I first turn on the head unit I get a loud hum for maybe 30 seconds or so then it just disappears? I have a Monster 1 Far cap, I also have a JL-300/4 for my highs but I have no noise problems with that????????

Hmm ive had similar experiences with my speakers as well. Right after I start my car I will get alternator noise for a minute or so till my alternator charges the battery from the start and then it goes away when the battery is fully charged. This might be what your experiencing also, I just dont see why your highs dont do it also. But there really isnt anything you can do about it though, sorry, as far as I know.

maybe your rca wire is to close to your power wire try putting htem on different sides of the car

Does the sound happen when you start and run the vehicle or just with the ignition on, thus the alternator is not running?

I have my 4awg power wire running down the right side of the car and my RCA's on the left side, there is a point under the rear seat where i used a block splitter to power each amp that the rca's may cross over the power wire, I will have to check that, The sound happens when the car is started in the morning or has been sitting for awhile, not when in acc mode, always with the engine running, the volume can be at 0 or 30, Of course at 30 you can hear it, and at 0 thats all you can hear, I dont know if this is relevent but I noticed that my Cap is acting funny, I have a Monster 1F with the led, and I noticed that sometimes the desplay goes off, and sometimes it has a normal reading of 12.6 or above, I never had a cap with a Led so I dont know if this is normal?

Is your power wire hooked directly to your battery or to your solenoid?

It goes directly from the batt to a circuit breaker, then to the Cap and out to the amps......

Sounds like the battery may be weak. Those are pretty big amps, may want to consider a second battery. A weak battery can contribute to engine noise.

Its possible, I do have a deep cycle battery that checks out,

Im thinking more along the lines of the cap, thanks..
