Loud BUT good Sound Quality

I have a 94 Buick Century.

I have lots of trunk space as well. Lucky me LOL.

I don't wanna spend more than $2000 on a system.

But I want to make sure I am LOUD but my sound quality is still EXCELLENT.

My BF's system is Loud... but I think the sound quality is not good.

I can hear all the bass I want (in his) ... but not the music itself.

I want my bass to be heard but I also wanna hear my music.

I love music.

To I wanna be loud enough to maybe hit about 140 145 DB in a soundoff.

So if you've got any ideas to exactly what brand, size, and the type of equipment I should get please help me out.

Whats an HU? LOL I want a loud system guys but Im new to this stuff. Explain it to me in layman's terms. *laughs*

My BF can probably build me a box and actually install everything. I was just wanting to get some suggestions on what to get.

Your CD player is also called H/U (head unit)

I would get it through ebay, my system is only going to cost me under 1000 and it is a couple grand system. I would suggest an RE XXX, or Brahma, or JL W7s, or Eclipse TIs (what I am getting) Since you have so much room, unlike me, I would get the XXXs. 2 12s in my opinion, in a good size vented box. I would suggest Hifonics amps, prolly the BX1500. Ebay would cost 230 for each amp ( you need 2 ) and for the XXXs I think it was 400 shipped for each. I would get an Alpine CD player, they are like half price on ebay! I would suggest Infinitys, but CDTs are nice, MB quart, etc. etc. Oh and two XXXs in a proper box, 140-145 No problem! Oh crap you are in FL, I hope I dont lose to you! LOL Hope I could help

I would say that would go well over budget. Two XXX's are going to be like 850? Two BX1500d's are 500, HU is over 200, Speakers are 150-200, amp for speakers is >100. Then electrical system to support over 3000 watts is easily going to end up somewhere near a grand. That system would also hit welll over 140, hell look at tommyk he hit 144 or so with a single 10.

More girls, Yay. I wish my G/f was into this stuff. I would say go with 1 XXX and a power acoustik A2400DB. Then get a nice set of speakers. and a really good h/u and your set.

i'm guessing.....$275 with shipping ($240 for the h/u)

grand total..aprox $1585....

that leaves ove $400 for stuff like mdf, speaker wire (go to best buy and get speaker harness plugs, $7 a pair. ur factory speaker wires will handle 100wrms easily, and u won't have to splice them) , extra rca's and distro blocks.

as to hitting 140-145...u should easily, but it's mostly going to depend on the box ur bf builds. also, with this much $$$ leftover, u could probably get a good shop to so the install and still be under $2000..

another option...go to a good local shop, tell them what ur after and ur budget..a good shop will be able to get ya right with that budget.

I forgot about the budget and wiring. But one XXX done right will hit 140s easily. You could get a single 15, and a BX1500D off ebay. BUT I would try to do something original, that is a combination used so often, not that that is bad, but orginality is good. You could go 4 10s in a custom vented box. I wish we could trade trunks! If you want hard hitting bass you could try sealed boxes? 4 quality 10s in a sealed box would sound good and can get pretty loud. So can a single 12 in a vented box though.
