Loud bass noise

Hello all,

i am using a factory HU, just hooked a 4-channel and 1-channel amp 2 subs and a LCQ-1 from audio control. all items new, sounds fantastic.....but after completing installation i had about 1hr of playing time without any issue. now all of a sudden when my music is playing the bass just surges loud for about 10secs at most, 3 secs atleast. I seems to happen when i am on the free way and driving say 40-60mph/when at make a turn/when i press brakes. it is rather annoying and unpredictable (it sounds as though the subwoofer is stuck at at a very low frequency), and even if i turn the volume down it still happens at varying times. if i shut off the stereo when it happens it will go away shortly after. does any one knw whats causing this. can someone help please.

Is it possible that the LCQ-1 is picking up some power or ground loop noise due to its maybe high sensitivity? If all else with rca's fails to remedy the problem try running dedicated power and grounds to the Audio Control.

Edit* My reasoning here is that in ur discription the problem seems to happen when brake lights or turn sigs are activated. Depending or ur power/ground source, the Audio Control could be picking up on the draw/signal of the bulbs or the electrical draw in the lighting system.

b4 i try ur suggestion, mayb this will help even more.....before i installed the LCQ-1...i just used an audiopipe LOC (so it was everything stock ---factory player---went into my trunk tapped into rear speaker, connecter amp, installed sub) and it did the exact same thing as described, nothing different.

Note* as mentioned before, It seems to happen when i am on the free way and

1.driving say 40-60mph

2.when i make a turn (eg. to change lanes) at said speed

3. when i press brakes at said speed (sometimes with this one the noise will last until the car stops)

is more than likely a bad ground. Always sand down your ground point to bare metal and then screwing the ring terminal down I would stay away from using washers.

Just go to your amp and follow the ground from the amp to where it is screwed down.

1st make sure the metal is sanded to bare metal for a good contact

2nd make sure that the ground is screwed down as tight as possible

3rd dont use a washer (i have found this always give me trouble)
