first of all he is a mediocre installer, not great like people love to say. He is a very poor designer, and a primadonna and a **** with way to huge of an ego.

here's my take on meade...

personally, i'm not a fan (but then again, i'm not a "fan" of anyone) ... though i will say this... he is VERY good at marketing himself. that is the main reason he is so well known. it's not because he's the loudest, the cleanest installer, or even the most innovative guy out there... it's just plain marketing. he puts himself out there in mass, and has become well known because of it.

although i dont like his attitude at times, he does bring alot of recognition to the car audio community.... and for the most part, in a positive way. before you guys start calling me a fanboy, or flaming... let me explain what i mean... i can only guess of how many people, who are just starting out in car audio, come across his videos, and actually learn some good info, and then, in turn, decide to actually research more about car audio, then what the salesman at best buy tells them.

again, i am in NO WAY defending meade....to be quite honest, i couldnt give less of a fvck either way... just saying, the guy has done some good for the car audio world.

doesn't have much working knowhow, but he can do some decent fab work and he's got social networking down to a damned science. few lessons from THE KING OF ALL MEDIA, Howard Stern.....ROR.....and he could be the king of all kings of media.....ROFR. so if success is generating an avenue that pays you fairly well, smd has carved a pretty solid path there. if understanding how things work was ever a goal of his (which i doubt and don't blame him for it) he's not doing very well there. i used to build to knock peoples pomels in the dirt, but now i almost want no subwoofer at all in the car. i get a headache quickly. i'd rather just put on a pair of Grados on a Cmoy and have someone drive my @55 around.

he's not a bad guy in person, but yes i agree online he can be an ass at times. look at it from his point of view, as stated above, hes probably tired of all the dumbfucks online all the time, so of course his attitude has turned to crapola over it
