I was browsing through craigslist looking at cars when I stumbled across a 2000 toyota celica for $3400. from the pictures it looks like a really nice car, but for the price it seems too good to be true. I sent the owner an e-mail asking how many miles are on the car and where it is located (car was listed in atlanta section of cl) and this is what I got back

Hi,

My name is Amanda. We are selling our house and both cars because we are moving to Canada from where my husband is. We are originally from Arizona and the car is here with us. If you are interested in buying it, shipping is about $800, which I agree to pay half of it. The car is in perfect shape, no dings or

scratches.

The transaction will be managed by the eBay Purchase Protection team, so everything will go smooth. You will receive the car for inspection before you make any payment to me. If you are interested in completing this deal with us, just give me a reply as soon as possible and I will reserve the car for you and also give you more info's about the car and how this transaction will work.

Final Price:3400$ (shipping included)

Regards,

Amanda & Gérard

67.000 miles

Clean title.

Never involved in accients.

Etested and Safetied.

Is it definantly a scam and I should forget about it, or should I find more information about how they want to sell it?

Its a scam, I offered one of the guys for me to come and pick it up so I don't have to pay shipping, and never heard from him since.
Yeah I was thinking about trying something like that. It would cost much less than $800 to fly to arizona and then drive it back.

oh well

I've noticed on that most of the "to good to be true cars" are always listed w/o an exact city...ie...in my case they would be listed as Eastern NC...

Not saying that they are all scams, but they just seems fishy. It may help if you post a link to the actually ad. I just did a KBB search on this car from a private party for my zip, and its worth $7700

yeah. there was another one I e-mailed that was in salt lake city.

funny thing is the ad is no longer listed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

How can they say shipping is gonna be $800 when they have no idea where it'll be shipped to? I mean, shoot, it's like 3k miles from AZ to Maine or some sheisse....

This shit is all scamz, man, don't even reply you'll get your email on some spam lists.
