Lookin into some 8s

I would have to suggest against the Digital Designs 1008 and 1508 and the Audioque SD2 if you plan on going sealed. Do you have a budget in mind? How much power do you plan on running and i can limit your choices down alot more

just my 2 cents....I have 2 RE8's on a Memphis PRD500.1

it is overpowering them a bit, so I've had to keep the gain and subsonic filter turned down, but...

as long as I dont turn the radio up over 3/4 volume..they do great, sound reall good, even with the lows

On the bad side, they do bottom out relatively easily...so you have to watch what you do...however, a 300 watt amp should work fine with them, if thats what you go with

EDIT>Just a note, I say 3/4 volume, but that really depends on the song....some songs I can play at full volume and I meant they try to bottom out at higher volume, not that they sound any worse.

If there bottoming out raise the SSF, you already said you set that low. In a proper enclosure and tuned amp, a RE Re should take ~400rms. If you want to increase your power handling wtf would you set your ssf low for.

I've run the black 8L7s, the DD 1008as, TruBass 8", RE 8"s, eD 8"s and TC 2+ 8"s... I'd probably pick the eD as a good general purpose sub. it'll get pretty loud and decently low, with way less chance of bottoming out. DDs and TCs I prefer'd ported... well, I'd only run ported  the others I'd prefer ported, but the eDs probably would be my 1st choice for sealed... of its any help... I actually run ported only so my favorites are the DDs of all the ones I ran. I do like different things about all of them though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif TCs can bang, but I prefer them in a car to get the waves bouncing off the back they can bang lows like large subs. but sucked donkey balls in my truck, but then again my truck likes displacement to get low bass loud my soloX 10" and DD 9510 both sucked in there as well... my ti pro 15" bumped though in the old box 6.5ft^3 104inches^2 port //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif had it sitting for like a year and decided to give it a go and slapped a box together for it yesterday.. anyway. here's a drop in test I did with the eD and RE 8"s

here's one with a better box and the DD 8"s didn't quite get the cones though I think I have them in another vid somewhere. I only ran the DDs in that particular box though as it's to DD spec with an external port //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif tuned to 40hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
