Lookin into some 8s

I have a pair of MTX Road Thunder 8s in my work truck. Yeah, they're old, and ugly, but suprisingly, they do not sound bad. I am, however, looking to step up to some better 8s. I dont want to spend a fortune, this is my work truck. I dont drive it much other than a 15 minute trip to and from work. With that being said...state some opinions...I will either go with 2, or 4 behind the seat. (nissan hardbody)

Digital Designs 1508's are 5 1/4" in depth. The Digital Designs 1008a is 5 3/16". You can get the 1008a's for cheaper, and put just about the same wattage to them. They can be had for about $200 + shipping with a box. (I saw some in the classifieds). What kind of air space do you have? Depth? Ported or Sealed?

My boxes currently, are between .6 and .8 cu.ft. Factory ported MTX crap. I will, however, build 1 complete sealed enclosure that will stretch the width of the truck, and hold 3 or 4, sealed, and should be about .8 each.

I have been eyeing those MAs on eBay...and the only reason I would even consider them is a friend from back home has 4 MA 12s in his old custom S10, and he's got em all on an HK model amp, and he went in an competition and pulled a 145 or 146 with em, we were all pretty excited that day because for the 12s, boxes, and amp was all right at $600.

Looked at CVRs also, I am a huge kicker fan. (wish the CVXs came in 8s.) Even considered the **** L5 and L7 8s.

they make the l5 in 8's you just have to look hard to find them. some re8's will do you jus fine good sound at a cheap price...as for the dd 1508's call a dealer near you..i know my dealer here in florida sells them for 140 each....bnib with warranty.

JL8W3's are really nice. the new 08 L7 8" pounds. Beyma has some nice 8's. Rl-i 8's would always be my first choice tho. Then maybe the dd 1508
