No experience with any of the following, but have heard great things about

RE RE8s

Soundsplinter RL-i 8s

DD 1008s and 1508s

Maybe a few of the cheap Tng Band 8s from PE

What voice coils? Condition? I am looking to do four 8's in a Infinate Baffle config. I was thinking of the eD subs.

The fact that you have $500 to work with makes the TC-1000 a no brainer. Great motor, copper rings, nice Xmax

I have four dual 4s and four dual 2s.

All are black cones.

Pretty good condition. I the mags are a little digned to be showing off in an IB config though. But they are nearly 1/2 price.

ive heard the REs and was really impressed with em, they sound clean and get loud

my friend is getting the rl-i's saturday...so ill be able to hear those as well

the tc1k look really nice, as well as the dd 1008s

i want something that isn't going to take A LOT of power to get decently loud though...so im kinda leaning away from the 1008s

are 2 8's going to weigh that much less than your 15? I don't think there will be enough weight difference to matter that much I don't think the sub is what is lowering your gas mileage how is it possible to have made THAT much of a difference, maybe buy a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and change your fuel filter. Unless it's like 400 lbs or something...

I'd go with TC's or AA Assassins, more toward the TC's if you want them to take alot of power, but they are quie a bit more expensive as well, you could probably do 4 AA's for the price of 2 TC's.

The eD 8s weigh much less and require a much smaller box. More bulky 8s would lessen that advantage.

that and i miss my trunk space...going back and forth between college ftl w/ a 15"

you need a tune up instead of those 8's

i probably have like 200 lbs in the trunk......

so yea, 8s will make that much of a diffence

and for the tune up...i keep my car maintained thank you

So it will weight what like 50 lbs less? I think a single 12" would be a better choise since it would have more output and probably weigh less than 2 beefy 8's. or even a single 10...

Um the DD 1508s take more power than the TC1000s do. And I've heard that the 1008s are pretty beefy little bastards as well.
