lookin at 8s

Alright, so im look at getting some 8s next month...and ill probably have 500 bucks for 2 8s, amp, and box (that ill build)

i know most of the brands...

SS

RE

TC

DD

etc

so if anyone has some experience (AND I KNOW YOU DO) lemme know what u guys think is a good 8" driver more toward SQ than SPL...would like them still to get loud of course

i own both TC1k 8" and an assassin 8".

of course id say grab a tc1k if you have the cash, if not, the assassin (if you can find one) is a very capable driver. you wont be disappointed with either of those.

yea i was lookin at both of those...dunno when i could find an Assassin, but the tc would be good...300 for new ones, that leaves 200 for a nice amp to run em

or i could try and find em used for a lot less id hope

I love my Assassins, they shake my outside mirrors sealed up, so I'd imagine they are crazy ported (and I've heard they are). But I've also heard some DD 1008a's, and man, those things bang!

thats a good reason, with gas prices going up thats a good idea

you could wait for the new Ascendant Audio subs

or the SS subs or the DD subs

if i was in your place i would wait for the Ascendant Audio and see hoe it is.

or i would get the SS sub or the DD sub. read some more reviews about all three subs

yea...my friend is picking up some SS, so im gonna see how those sound. The DDs are a possibility, but im not sure how much my amp puts out at different impedences, i know it can do 2kw+ at one ohm (ab 100.1), so i might sell that and get a diff amp

its an american bass CX100.1, you remember the thread mazdakid had about his broken one, its that amp...except it works

i cant find any info on that amp, it must be an old amp

its not that old, but its only "rated" at 100 watts

but it does over 2k @ 1 ohm
