I paid $700 for it, about half of retail. I love the face on it....very clean. The volume knob is pure ***, best of any head unit I have ever touched period.

My opinion.. The face is the best on any production HU out there..

Simple,

clean,

made of something other than cheap plastic,

high-end.

Nice deck man!

That is the only thing.. nothing BUT CD's.. However, I'm not seeing any better processing other than the H701 Alpine external processor.. or maybe the F1 which is far far more cash.

Don't know about the rest of your gear so I hope you'll have a system of amps, speakers and sounddeadenging that justifies such a great HU.

Good luck.

... I wish Clarion would trickle down the styling and old-school hi-fi technology in this head unit into something between this unit and it's others.. Theres such a HUGE gap in their players. It's the 9255, and all the other mass-production stuff.
The rest of my gear is in my sig. I'm sure alot of guys will question my amp choices but to be honest they have been rock solid, transparent, cool running, and very clean looking. Everything I want in an amp. I hear what your saying about the huge gap. The jump from the 9255 to the rest is like going from Eclipse to Dual or something.

Lol@making the wife a head-unit-stand to take pictures //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
She's gotta earn her keep somehow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.... oh wait she does other things for that:naughty: She is into my hobby nearly as much as I am. Never complains when I have the car torn apart for days on end, even helps me out. She's a keeper.

Dude, unless it's somewhere I didn't read.. Where'd you do such a deal on this head unit? I did think I saw some refurbs out there for that price.
