I really like that black stripe down the center. Nice work. I'm not too huge on the port though. I really like the extra touch of staining the inside port wall though.

Nope not black stain, a painting technique I use to keep the grain look.

The stripe I felt would be a nice break-up and go well with the black carpeting, the binding posts also looked really cool mounted in it as well. And the port design has its advantages to say the least //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. If you're talking about the gloss look on the interior (seen behind the speaker opening), that's not stain it's fiberglass resin.

If you're doing the entire box why not just use a colored stain?
