i took my best guess, for a most common question asked

u measure the inside center when making a slot port with 90 degree turns and what not

In re calculator does the second port piece sit on top of the 1st port piece or push up next to 1st port piece

im talking about a L shaped port.

so one piece of MDF would face north, the second piece would face east/west for an "L" port.
