I totally agree with your aspects and thank you for backing me up..Wow, what is with the stereotype of game hunters being rednecks? Sure the media plays to that, but in truth it is very worng. Of course there is the isolated instance and case, but that is true in everything.
Wouldn't it be more true that hunting is a sport for royalty and the wealthy? And besides, it is hunting that sustained life for thousands of years. Without game hunting human life would have failed to survive.
Hunting takes talent, and a certain set of qualities that very few have. It takes immense patience and understanding to hunt. Don't believe it? Just go sit in a tree during season...no weapon needed. See how often you see what you are looking for. And if by chance you do see one, try to act out shooting it.
You would think it would be easy...especially with a gun. Sure it is easier with a gun...but not what you think. Wildlife does not walk up, look at you, and wait for you to shoot them. They are wary of hunters, anything out of the ordinary and they take off. Deer, turkey, whatever, all have incredible senses. Turkey for one, can literally smell you from miles away. Just try it and you will get a better understanding.
Atleast if some catastrophic event occurs that wipes out most of civilization, it will be the hunters that survive, atleast they know how to fend for themselves when there is no local grocery store to buy their beef from.
Yes i hunt...would you know it by looking at me or talking to me? Of course not. You would never figure it out unless i directly told you. So does that still make me a redneck?
I REALLY hate to correct you but... turkey can't smellthey do have incredible eyesight that can pick up the slightest movement, such as picking up your gun or raising your hand..And once they pick up that movement, the game is usually over as they will spook.
