Racism, like ******, is something that cant be allowed to blossom here. Unfortunately a few people tend to ruin it for everyone (not pointing fingers at anyone on this topic, just making a general statement). Take the ****** thing for example. ****** has officially been against the rules of this site for as long as I can remember (loong before I was a mod). For a while it was... tolerated however. But at some point a relatively small number of people decided to push that tolerance to unacceptable points. For a while, pics of ***** women (and men) were showing up in every other topic here, being used as avatars, put in sigs, etc. It was at that point that google ads stepped in and said they did not want to be associated with a site that condoned such behavior, a completely understandable position imo. So unfortunately it came to what we have now, much stricter rules about ******.

As for the racism issue, benben made a post the other day that pushed that limit. I deleted it, and PM'd him about it. To his credit, he replied to my PM respectfully and in an understanding manner. I appreciated his understanding, just as I appreciate it from most members of this site (on this and the few other rules we must enforce). I dont like having to delete posts, or ban anyone. I get no pleasure out of it (believe it or not lol). Im sure the other mods feel the same way. But the simple truth is, we must maintain some order here, for the good of the site and its community. Im sorry if you (or anyone else here) does not like the lines in the sand we feel we must draw, but I ask that you at least understand why we have to draw them. Thanks.

The threads from Smitty get taken down, I try and stay out of the dome as moderating in here is a bit tricky since all the mods allow a different tolerance on various issues.

I've actually never been comfortable with mods whom own a audio related business or a stake in an audio related business. Makes any decisions you make on threads questionable since you have a personal stake in any outcome.

What stake do I have in 99% of any actions taken by a mod? Most of what we do is clean up post dumping or move threads.

I would guess that means you don't think Denim is doing a good job the entire time he has been around?

I have mentioned previously, on multiple occasions over the years that I do not think Denim should be a mod because of his stake in SSA. It has nothing to do wether he is doing a good job or not, its the fact that the ability to delete threads refering to SSA poorly exists. Nothing personal of course.

Just let it ride out, I think Dustin was a good selection.. although I did find Audioholic suspicions of racism to be very ambiguous.. maybe he can point for me exactly where in the last thread there was racism.. if so, then Ill concur..
