anyway, how big was his box? i bet that's why he didn't have shit on his truck because his dam box was taking up all the room. the guys i load for only have acouple coax's or something, and maybe a 10.

what is so hard to believe about having a "system" in your vehicle --

in my OTR job I had a infinity 10" servo system, mb quart components and a pioneer MP3 deck-- when you spend SO much time in your work vehicle..why NOT enjoy it? The guys at budweiser dist center in Ft Collins, CO loved it...they knew when I was coming in anyways.

so i thought the drivers just used whatever truch they were given that day, does this mean then like own their truck? subs are a pretty major modification to a company vehicle like that..whats the deal.

When you become a driver do they just like give you a truck and tell you your responsible for it or something?

it's complicated. i haven't even grasped the whole concept yet. it's something to do with contractors and temp drivers.

but for instance, one of my drivers is a contractor, and he owns his truck, as in he paid the 35k or however much the one he has costs, and bought the truck flatout, so it's his. he could quit fedex and use it to ship illegals across the u.s. if he wanted to, it's his truck. the way they get paid is by package(or envelope, whathave you). so they get paid for each package they deliver. so for the most part, he tries to get as much shit as he can fit on there as possible in order to make the most money. some routes have more stops than others, which means more money. another thing is they get deductions from their pay if they miss a pick up.

temp drivers are just there 'temporarily'(given the name) and usually rent trucks, either from businesses, or other contractors who have more than one truck. but also get paid per package/pick ups/ etc etc. but with temps, the managers/bosses can change what routes they take whenever they please. as where the contractors have a 'contract' as to what routes they take, and can not be changed w/o their permission. of course, if something bulk comes down, like a 100 count, they are able to flex it to a 'temp' who has no say in wether they want to take it or not.

but so far, that's what i've gotten from working there at fedex. don't know if it's completely accurate but yea

but for the most part, the ones w/ the systems are the contractors who own their own truck, and like imentioned can do whatever they please to/with them

lol .. i can usually spell it right but when i was typing that i couldnt.. i rewrote it 4 or 5 times then said screw it... and im pretty sure a bs flag is followin after this post but oh well lol

I was an OTR company driver... I had one truck assigned to me...I knew I would be giving up the mbquart's when I quit...but they were old, but worth the sacrafice for the better sound. The Servo sub was easily portable with just a few screw turns... the deck? freightliner trucks used the same mounting and adaptors as a vw car... click click and it was out and old radio back in... XM adaptor stayed hooked to radio..again, easily removed. I would NOT have continued driving without my sound system and my boss understood...keep the driver happy...driver keeps him happy...= more $$$$.

...(a lil bragging--please indulge me).... I also had a microwave and refrigerator--home on wheels!

I even figured out how to put a cheap lil 5.1 surround system in the bunk/sleeper and mounted a flat screen to the wall... (thanks to a 4000W Inverter!)

Because of all of this...I really didnt mind staying out 3 weeks or more at a time...the more the door stays closed and the wheels keep turning...the bigger the profit to company and driver! I enjoyed it while I was still healthy enough to. It is a whole other world. (---sorry about the long reply)
