Listening to music on my Iphone 4s in my car

OH
I just got a new head unit put in so I could hook up my Iphone to it and listen to the music on it. It plays a song and the only way you can manuever through the songs is my hitting the next/forward button. It won't let me hit the back arrow on my Iphone to get to the list of songs when I have it connected to the unit or when I have it disconnected and I'm at home and want to listen to music or something. Not sure what to do to get back to the list of songs so I can hopefully just click a song when I'm in the car.

What head unit do you have? My headunit has a button that lets me switch my ipod/iphone control from strictly the headunit to be able to control it through the ipod. I can still hit next/forward on the deck to skip songs when its through the ipod control.

This!

Find the option to switch control from your headunit to external or iPod (whichever yours says.)

I tried that. I have it so I can control it from my Iphone/Ipod but it won't let me hit that back arrow to go back to the list of songs. When I switch it to controlling it from the head unit, the thing comes up that says it's connected to the unit. Even when I disconnect it from the head unit and I have it at home or something, it still won't let me hit the back button.

I have the Pioneer DEH-44HD

If it does it when it's not connected to anything then there is a problem with your iPhone and not the deck.

To the Apple Forums I go...

Haha, thanks for the help man. I thought maybe I needed to hit a button or something on the unit. Thanks again. Hopefully I can figure this out.
