Linux Ubuntu

I use Linux, dual boot on my desktop with Windows 7 and triple boot on my laptop with Windows 7 and OSX Snow Leopard. I've used Ubuntu Since version 4. Prior to that I've used Red Hat and Mandrake. Right now I am running the LXLE 12.04 64 bit, It's fast.

It's almost always a project to get device drivers working on laptops (at least Dell laptops). I've used a bunch of different distros over the years and they're very powerful, reliable, fast, and graphically years ahead of windoze. If I didn't need a few windows specific apps I'd be auditioning Linux distros

I used to use ubuntu and linux mint. I switched back to windows just because every program has a windows version. I might switch to dual boot, ubuntu is way faster on startup. On my asus laptop I have never had to download any drivers or anything it downloads them automatically.

I have a tower that's sole purpose is burning / copying / ripping various forms of different media - UBUNTU works gr8 for this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

360 games? I've always wondered how hard it is to rip/burn them.

It's a P.I.T.A., Not sure as to what can be done presently / now, but a few years back when I was ripping 360 games you had to mod the 360 to get it to play them and xbox live bans you for the mod, I was jockying around consoles for awhile but I got sick of it & gave up on it, I'm not much of a gamer anymore these days, don't have the time to spare like I used to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Jailbreak the 360...remember to only download games from the enternet if you own the hard copy..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif yeah thats right lol

Ive run Ubuntu, Fedora, RedHat, Mint, and Mandriva. My favorite was Fedora, but it doesnt have quite the support that Ubuntu did. The programs I wanted were hard to find in a .rpm format from the repositories. I tested most of these in a VMWare Workstation. I also dual booted for a few months with Ubuntu. I found myself never booting into Ubuntu even though I set it as the default OS in the Grub Bootloader.

Linux distro's are better for some things, but for 99% of the stuff I do with my job and for practical purposes Windows is the way to go.

Ubuntu & Windows BOTH have their strong points & downfalls... For your average everyday user: Windows is the better choice... For the tech savvy peeps out there I prefer best to have dual boot...

I'm wanting to try a mac os :/... just looks clean. running ulti win7, have linux ubuntu and love it as well though I don't do much with it but surf the net and such, extremely fast boot up time.
