Linkin Park's Chester Bennington dead from apparent *******

This is exactly why im not good with the comedians trying to make light of this. The part that disgusts me the most is that some of them even remember Jordan, a former member who committed ******* (rest his soul). Im friends with his mother and sister and bore witness to the heartbreak they suffered. ******* has either become far more rampant as of late, or the social media access has just brought it to light and is showing is to be as bad as it is.
unless its a young teenage girl no one really cares, ******* rates in men are skyrocketing but you know, feminism

Indeed. There is photographic evidence.

Why does that wreck it?
It'll absolutely wreck a CDR or dvdr because the film that the laser etches the dots and dashes is only protected with a thin film right on top, which is why you should only use a felt tip pen/marker when writing on them. My dad wrote with a ball point pen on a CDR once and was confused why it skipped lol CDs and DVDs with preloaded material have another layer on the top just like on the bottom, therefore are much more robust. The lack of exposure to the air also adds to the longevity of prerecorded CDs vs CDRs. You can expect, on average, about 10 to 15 years from a CDR, but if you keep it in a dry cool place without exposure to UV light, they'll theoretically last for decades, but they will inevitably die just from exposure to air, moisture and sunlight

Because the data is on top underneath it.
More exactingly, the layer you write on is merely a thin film used to protect the foil-like material that the data is etched into by the laser. Scratch that, and its toast. If you have a blank CDR or dvdr, break one in half, you'll see what I'm on about. Also, pop one in the microwave for 3 seconds and watch it. It makes lightning bolt-esque patterns as it destroys itself. Its mesmerizing. But do that at your own risk. I've done dozens when I worked at ultimate electronics when a CDR write failed for whatever reason. And we used to do hundreds of them when "Sharing" each others music back when making a straight wav copy from drive to drive was the best way of getting music from a friend

I have so many CDR's.....but a lot of them have scratches on top. Back when d/l music tho.
if you can see thru any part of it, that section is screwed and will at the very least skip if not completely error once the laser gets to that part. When i was running discs in my car, i hardly ever had an original in there. I would make wav rips of the discs i had and burned them in either entire albums or mix discs. I got tons less of songs per disc, but the sound was impeccable. Until thinking more about compression and the loss that music suffers from it, i really didnt consider the negative aspects of running mp3's in higher volume and/or spl situations. My best sounding system was in my 1996 Infiniti i30t. It had og Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 comps with the silk dome tweeters (model S600s) run off a PPI PC250, Diamond Audio D3 600 comps in the rear run off deck power, an A/D/S/ PQ 20.2 running 2 Rockford HE2 12"s dual 4 ohm wired up to 8 then bridging 1&2 and 3&4 to the subs, stinger RCAs, monster speaker wire and a pioneer premier deh-p350. It wasnt an sq monster, nor an spl monster, but it was very crisp, clean, clear, rumbly and loud! The deck couldnt even play mp3's so there wasnt even a chance for compression to be a problem, but had i run mp3's in it, im sure it wouldnt have sounded as good
