linear actuators

Im looking for a linear actuator that is capable of moving/holding a few hundred pounds of force. After searching for hours i only found industrial custom actuators that cost more than my car. If any one knows a company that makes these actuators for cars please let me know.

Have you looked at selectproducts.com they sell some linear actuators as well as some different sizes of worm gears. I don't know the prices right of hand though.
