I've installed half a dozen systems before and never experienced this, it's bizzare.
First of all the dimming headlights only occur after the amps have been in use for a while. If I detach their power cables from the battery everything goes back to normal. All electrical devices are affected too, interior lights, car starting slower, and all.
This happened to two separate car batteries. The one I have now is a semi-new Everstart MAXX (heavy as hell), which tells me it's definitely not a battery problem.
They are grounded to the seat belt bolts in the back seat. I usually use this location and never had problems with it before.
What do you think? First thing that comes to mind is a grounding issue but I'd like to hear any input you guys have. Thanks!
