levels for my avionixx 800.2 amp

im not sure what all the dials mean exactly and how much to turn them up....like there are 2 dials for frequency, one is for voltage i think and there are others. What should i set them at?? I have 2 ed K's .44.

The one with the volts is your gain, match them to the voltage output of your HU. You'll also have a switch for the xover (LP, HP, Full)...switch it to LP and set the LP dial to between 60~80. You don't have to worry about the HP dial.

If you have the bass boost on just adjust it till it sounds good. I wouldn't recommend turning it on though.

isnt there like a wattage dial that i can control how much my amp puts out?? Kind of like a volume or power dial?

HPF and LPF are you're High Pass Filter and Low Pass Filter. You only want to send the Low frequencies to your subs, because...well it's a sub. You can adjust the LPF dial until it sounds decent, but usually you want to stay below 100 to stay safe. Or just match it with where you have your fronts cut off at if you have an xover for the fronts.

Yeah, your gain. That's the dial with volts on it. Typically you just match it with the output voltage of your HU.

But, you can set everything flat on your HU, and turn it up to about 3/4 of what the HU will do then adjust that gain until the sub starts to distort then back it off a bit.

Your going to get whatever wattage the amp puts out at whatever ohm load you have it hooked up to.

I opted for the second option for how I set my gains.

Dont worry about the wattage. What you want to do is match the HU output to the amps input. Turn up your HU 3/4 like he said. Then turn the gain up on your amplifier until you can hear it distort. Then back the gain down a little bit. That will be close enough for everyday listening. That way when your radio is at max volume you wont be overdriving your amp into distortion and possibly damaging your speakers. If you input gain is marked in volts then set it to match you HU output voltage and you should be good to go. Its simple..

You can turn it on and see what it sounds like. I've just never liked the sound of any kind of "bass boost", be it on an amp, or HU.
