lets get technical

the cost of a 1 off motor is gonna be very very expensive
This I can attest to. If you just want ONE motor, your going to have to go local. No supplier in China is going to build you just one motor.

I got a quote locally for someone to machine me a t-yoke and top plate made out of 1018 steel to my specs and the cost was going to be ~$180 total just for those two items (this was not a big motor design either). This did not include any kind of nickel plating or chrome, and I would still need to buy the 3 ceramic slugs for the rest of the motor, not to mention trying to find someone afterwards to magnetize it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

In Las Vegas you have a local place to Magnetize -- Fi / AA has a machine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you have to get the top plate magnetized?
Once the motor is assembled it needs to be charged ; typically ferrite motors are assembled without any charge in the slugs.

Many Neo designs are assembled "live" , though , as it's VERY difficult to find a machine big enough to charge all the Neo at once.

that was a small motor im sure. i can machine the motor myself and get the slugs but if a big motor i have to send it away to get mag'ed
My machine will be done and ready to roll some time soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I hated putting those together. Typically meant black/blue fingers for a while....

i can charge motors but nothing big ;(

Jake be getting ahold of you when you get that because i wanna make some serious SPL subs for myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yeah I figured they did but I never even bothered asking about it once I realized how much it would be just to build one custom motor lol. So now I have different plans //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
