Yes the mad cow disease comes from the brain and spinal cord. But what you dont understand is when the cow is quarterd it is split down the middle of the back spilling spinal fluids all over the meat in that area. If you like t-bone steak take a look at the top of the bone in the middle of the T and you will see a little round notch probably big enough to stick your finger in and that is were the spinal cord ran through. If your lucky and pick some fresh steaks you can still find a little piece of spinal cord. It will be white or yellow, very soft and slimey with a sponge like feel.
