The first series of L7's made had a tendency to rip at the corners at maximum excursion.

HC or L7?

I have 400 to spend and I am leaning towards HC because I can put more watts to them later down the road. They dont require much space, but I can get the L7's here buy one get one free for 350.

Help me decide, thanks

Also would 2 12" HC's completely smother what I have now?

yes the 2 hc's would smother the brahma if given the 1500 watts and right enclosure

just given double cone area and double the power, like them 4 10's u had they were louder than heck b/c of just the cone area

Is your brahma ported??? If not you could go ported and slap a bigger amp on it!! Or just go with the XXX (although very similar to the Brahma). IMO the XXX is a pretty tough sub to contend with!! And if the Brahma and XXX are closely related like it seems they are i would have to think the Brahma has the ability to beat any of the formentioned subs!!..............Or you could just buy a second Brahma!!!!! And a BIG *** amp!later,

Around 3 cubes tuned to 30 hz. 750 rms. from the 81000d.

well u can get what u want but i think youd be more than happy with the hc's rather than the L7's, the hc's will sound a whole lot better than the L7's unless u dont care about sq then get the L7's but i think they would get pretty darn close in spl, b/c if u want the L7's to get loud like ud want them u would have to get the box tuned up towards 40hz and then the L7's wouldnt sound as great, but now if u get the hc's they would still sound pretty decent if u got the box tuned up to 40hz or so, but thats just what i think, if u get the L7's im thinkin that ud get them as loud as u like but i dont think they would sound as good as u would like them to sound, also its the name, everybody has got kicker around here nobody has heard of RE except me and u and then a limited # of other people, if u do decide to get the hc's id like to hear them if ud let me, ill let u listen to the new flat cone k's i got as soon i get the other one

Alright, well I will be ordering one sometime soon if dad permits. I want something loud and I will eventually get 3 or 4 if money comes through. I want sq but that doesnt near matter as much as spl. And about the number of people knowing what they are, I agree with that too. Yeah I'll let you know when I get them done, be a while but I'll holler at you when they are done. Thanks alot.

u should see the box i just got done with i got this one covered with this red felt material stuff that matches the interior, and its pretty clean lookin just waiting on my other k, and these dont rattle like the others

Yeah I just got done glassing some kickpanels and some other stuff in my trunk. The kicks I am gonna throw away when I get my interior done up but the thing in my truck covers my spare tire. Everything in the trunk that I glass will be covered with bed liner. This next box I make, I want it to be perfect..................... but you know how that goes.

i thought ur dad wouldnt let u take the spare tire out? oh yeah that bedliner stuff is kind of exspensive that stuff is like 6$ a can of spray on but it take several layers to work right
