Over the holiday weekend i went down to my car audio shop friend down in Carondale. He fine tuned my sub (Type R) to nearly perfection, if there is such a thing. I am quiite overwhelmed how good the sq is . Anyway , I ran into my friend at work, who I don't see to often, he is on the road alot, and told him about the total sq of my system, and he wants to have a sound off at work next month. He said he just got a new set of jl audio's not sure what kind, but im sure they are nice. This should be fun. He is modest about his system as I try to be. He might have me on spl, but if his system has better sq than mine, my hat would truly be off to him. Certainly on this forum there are much better sq systems, but I am so happy with my system, thats it hard to imagine Marvin's system has better sq. But hey you never know. I look forward to this, it should be a interesting experience. i know he has a very nice sytstem, but I haven't heard it in some time and have not heard his upgrades. We will see!

Yeah, I know what you are saying, jl and all but in a Ford Escape its a different sound. Open area instead of a trunk. I 12' type r properly powered and tuned is quite impressive when put togeather with the rest of the system.

I've never heard a Type R that's particularly impressed me.

Even in its budget range, I can think of other drivers I'd own...

No doubt there are better sq subs out there. It was a last ditch attempt to get the best I can out of them. It worked. I was ready to get a Boston G5 but with the way it blends in now, I see no need to . We will see next month how it all plays out.
