so was the post about the basket right. since everyone is lauging at it you all must be able to say for sure weather or not the woofer is using (liscensed or otherwise) or is not using the holes for cooling in the same manner JL is, as well as have some argument to back it up.

How about... every tom dick and harry company out there today is using that same basket, be it direct cooled or not. So yeah, JL even considering suing Fi over them using the same 12 spoke basket half the industry uses... is laughable.

I can say 100% sure, that that basket is NOT using ANY patented technologies, Be it Jl's tech, or any other. it is what is known as a "free" frame (ANYONE can use it, with no royalties paid to anyone). Its been around sense 1974 i WANT to say..

Regardless- it is a simple, $5 frame with no active patents on it, used by at least 50% of the car audio industry. In no way does it even come close to doing cooling like what the jl frame supposedly does

generalization but its not that expensive.. hell i can get the 12" frame for $12 each.. i would HOPE you could do better than that. (and actually.. $8.50 each if i order in quantity like 50+)
