leaking coolant

I gotta 93 bonnie and theres a leak at the top of the radiator where the hose connect. Is my radiator damaged or does the hose need replaced?

take a closer look..

tighten the hose clamp...

everytime ive seen a bad hose it splits somewhere other than the flange(s)

just looked again and its not the hose its the near the top side of the radiator. i was told the radiator needs to be replaced, but i was wondering if I could sawlder it.

Regular solder, like you would use in an electronics application, will not cure a leaky radiator. Your Bonneville is a '93 model, eh? I don't think GM had started widespread use of the plastic-bodied radiators by that point. Without having seen it for myself I cannot speak with any certainty whether you need to completely replace it or simply have it repaired. Take it to a radiator shop and see what they have to say about it. If it is repairable that would definately be the cheaper option than replacing it ~ but don't try and solder it. I'd wager the repair wouldn't last.

Since you spelled solder "sawlder", I am guessing that you don't know how to properly solder it. If I'm thinking right, you would need to bronze it, and you use a torch for that. But if it is leaking out of the actual radiator, where the barb is made to it; just pull it and take it to a radiator repair shop. I can't tell you what the cost is going to be, but it only cost 80 bucks when I got our chevelle's radiator fixed (a hole and a tank reattached).

I don't remember whose thread it was...but have a look at the thread about the 15" CVRs that one arrived...well...destroyed. Betcha JBWeld wouldn't fix that!

Jb weld is the sh*t. Dont underestimate the powers of the JB!

x2 on trying a $4 tube of jb weld before taking it to the shop.

it should get 1 at the cap cause when the engine is hot the entire coolant system is under pressure.
