leak

Depending on the size of the leak, it could be from unoticable to very noticable. Usually what you can do to check for air leaks is, take an old spray bottle and fill it with wtaer, then add some liquid dishsoap and shake it up. Spray some of it your suspected areas, while playing the sub, and watch for airbubbles. If bubbles are created, you have found your leak. Don't use too much water so that you soak the wood, and be sure to wipe it dry as soon as you are done. Dont leave it sitting there. Water can do some nasty stuff to wood;)

Hope that helped

That does help, but I'm wondering, how would a leak effect the performance of the subs in general, would they sound nasty or just not get loud?

Possibly both. They will just not sound like they should i guess you could say. If it is sposed to be a sealed box, then it could make a big diff., ported might not be as notciable.

Well if u have a sealed enclosure, and u have leaks, most the of the time SOME very Minor ones maynot be that big of a deal. But if u have several of them or a very large one, then sure enough u may have problems, mostly the subs will make a popping noice, or they will sound distorted even when all your gauges say other wise, For ex. you are running RMS, right box size, 2/3 volume levels, gains are set correctly as well as on HU, then u know its your box, or a ****ed up sub. But best thing to do is do what was recommended earlier, or just simply go over the box where its looks weak at spots, also go around any/cut out spots for wiring,etc..Hope this was helpful.Good luck, hope the problem ends up getting fixed!

Use the thick-carboard part of a notebook. If you can find one big enough, just cout out a ring and use it. You could also maybe use some kind of caulking but i wouldnt reccomend that, cuzz it might be a ***** to get off.
