Dethatching and plugging is basically for the Spring only, Its not something that can stand alone for the summer or a lawn business. Its good to add that and fertilizing in the spring with the rest of your services., as well as leaf removal and winterizing in the fall.
you both are right! you want to do it in the spring! i mowed lawns for a day with a buddy after i quit my job in insulation! i thought insulation sucked d**k. mowing lawns for one day!!!! worst job ever! dethatching alone was a bad a$$ job and i made some good money, but it is seasonal!well early spring you can do that, after that.... wow. If your going to start a bussiness lawn care is not the way to go at all. Obvouisly ull be cheaper than ur comp. But will u do a better job than the guys who've been mowing these lawns for 10 years? Its ridiculous, ive watched guys mow the same lawns around my house for the last 17 years. Every week all summer baby. ****in amazing.
You know how I know you're gay?ive watched guys mow the same lawns around my house for the last 17 years. Every week all summer baby. ****in amazing.
yea but you find your accounts in the winter everyone already has there stuff taken care ofSummer...? Summer's the best time to start a lawn mowing company. But save all the profits. You'll need them for the Winter.
i have 10,000 in 1 mower lolMy one word of advice: If you're planning on getting 10+ accounts, buy commercial equipment. I personally run Gravely mowers, Kawasaki trimmers, and Redmax blowers - but there are many great manufacturers out there.
Get yourself a gear-driven 32 - 42" walkbehind. You'll be amazed with how much time you save over those waste-of-time 21's. Not only that, but the cut quality is incomparable. Spend no less than $200 on a trimmer, and get a high-end blower.
With a trailer, you can get all of this equipment for around $3,000... brand new. Look out for used equipment as well.
Okay? He's not going to go buy a Scag ZTR for his first real mower. It doesn't even sound like he has a trailer.i have 10,000 in 1 mower lol
i havve 20+ accounts and i dont run commercial equipment. I have had 20+ for over 6 years with the same equipment (minus trimmer). i have a cub cadet zero turn mower with over 700 hours on it and the only thing that has broke was a belt. and my stihl blower has had zero problems. neither are commercial products. My one word of advice: If you're planning on getting 10+ accounts, buy commercial equipment.
