I called three car audio shops today about getting the big 3 upgrade done to my stock charging system and one said anywhere from $65 to $100 depending on the car the other has never heard of it and the third said they don't do it.

I am no where near being mechanicly inclined and would be willing to pay someone in my area that knows what they are doing to do it for me.

So with all that being said any of you in the Clearwater/Largo/St Pete/Seminole area of florida that are mechanicly inclined and have done the BIG 3 before willing to help a newb out?

I can pay in money beer bud w/e.

i also am in the same situation.....i undersatnd car audio a lil but ya got me on that one...if anyone lives in the flint area i would like to have ya help me or do it or sumthin i dont know lol

sorry for askin for help in your thread.....my bad 100%

LOL it's all good.I knew when I took auto body repair at trade school that I should have also signed up for auto mechanics //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I understand $65-$100 is a good deal but after buying the amplifier and wiring kit I'll be out by about $400.

If anyone in the area (clearwater/largo/st pete/seminole) is mechanicly inclined and has done a big 3 upgrade and would be willing to do it for a case of beer or $50 let me know.

I did the battery ground in my car...I've been lookin to do the rest fairly soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I'm in seminole/Saint pete across from the VA Hospital...

Hey man if you're willing to help me out just name your price bro.

Is it that hard to do?

I can do the battery neg to chassis ground no problem but the Alt positive to battery positive and chassis to engine block might be a bit hard/confusing?

I will be using a Lanzar OPTI2000D which has an ampere rating of 180 amperes.

Do I have to use 1/0 guage though or would 2 guage suffice and what size ANL fuse for the amplifier power cord,150 ampere or 200 ampere?

Also what about fusing between the alt positive to battery positive,150 ampere or 200 ampere ANL fuse?

1/0 is probably the biggest you'll need...fuse to the max of the wire, not to the system and I have no clue as to what that is...I would look for the biggest **** fuse and call it a day...250-300 maybe?

It's super easy guys. You don't need to be mechanically inclined to do it. If you know how to use a wrench, you'll be fine.

LOL.

I was looking at my alternator for two days in bright sunligh and could not finf the power wire or the ground, then last night I popped the hood and as soon as I switched the flash light on BAMMM,there's the wires!!!

Too simple,a 5th grader could do it LOL.

I am still confused as to what guage wire I should use and what size ANL fuse between the stock 105ampere alternator and the battery on the ALT TO BATT. + wire.

I have heard to fuse it to the max amp compacity of the wire.

The amp is a lanzar OPTI2000D with a total amperage of 180amperes.

2 guage or is 1/0 guage neccessary?

What is the max amp capacity of 1/0 guage and 2 guage and how many watts?

I plan on wiring the amp with the same size power and ground cable as I do my big 3 in.
