Are these amps reliable and do they give rated power? I understand that there are better amps out here but on a budget will these work well?

id grab the 1400d or 2000d opti. ehh there not all that you might push out around 1200 with a good batt.

how much did you get it for? they have the 1400d for $150 shipped on ebay. its a solid amp.

$100 shipped. Well actually $99.15 shipped off ebay. Seemed like a good deal, but I wanted you guys to tell me if I got over or just got F$#&ked

Initial value's pretty good as they will do ~1200w or so at 1 ohm. If it lasts a while $100's a give away.

When the first version of that amp came out ('01 - 1200D), it was one of the "hot" inexpensive amps across the forums ($230) - kind of like Hifonics has been recently.

Some defects in the design led to a lot of failures, and by the time Lanzar caught up the HF's and JBL BP's were coming out and those Lanzar's were basically a thing of the past. A couple revisions and a color change and you have the 1800d.

So since this is the revised version of the one you stated had defects ( 1200d), this amp is a good deal? How long do you think it may last and would ot be hard or even worth it to get this thing refurbed?

from what I've heard the newer ones are fairly reliable. If it's not abused there's no reason it shouldn't last a few years.

Refurb/repair -- hard to say. Lanzar is hit or miss when it comes to customer support. However, I did own a 1200D in about '02 that failed - that's when I got the info on the amps. CS in that situation was excellent.
