I have a 2007 Silverado and the guy at an audio shop told me i had to purchase a $200 LAN Interface to install an aftermarket head unit in the thing. I have read and know the lan systems keep you with onstar and the chime functions but he was telling me that the car will not work properly without it and at sometimes i might not even be able to start the car without it.
my question is do i have to have this or can i do without it if i don't care about the onstar and chimes?
