I just got done installing my system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . It sounds pretty good except the 6.5s I put in the door seem to have little midbass. They are mounted in the door in a set of custom 1/2" plexiglass adaptors. Should I have sealed or attempted to seal the door? Do I need to install some sound deadening material? The truck is a 2002 Ford Ranger X-cab. I have 1 set of 6.5" Alpine type R comps W/ the mid in the door and the tweeter on the dash. I am running the system off of an Alpine F357 5 channel amp bridged for the front and the sub running a 12" Alpine R type. I really don't like the way the sub sounds when crossed over at 80 htz so I have been running it at 50 htz and the hpf at 50 htz for the front stage. I just thought a 6.5" would be able to handle 50 htz and sound pretty good but it doesn't. BTW the hpf on the amp is turned off and I am using the hpf on my deck, it seems to work a little better. Any help please.

I have the Comps and they sound fine, but my door is Dynamat. Try the Dynamat it or some other deadening material. There not the best ive ever owned but there good comps, Give the about 50 rms and use a EQ and they will come alive for you.
