I have an opportunity to purchase a Solobaric 15 for a really good price. I have a Power bd500.1 already. If I wire it at a 2ohm load, how would this amp push it?
Kicker 15" L7s are rated at 1000 watts RMS. If you only feed them 500, you can see where the problem may be. Kickers are definitely one of the power hungry brands, and they need and deserve the recommended power for them to perform.
Look at a 12" with 750 RMS. Won't be quite the gap, and won't sacrifice a lot of sound compared to the 15. The 12 will be quicker and cleaner than a relatively sluggish 15.
