L5 vs. L7

I was thinkin about going with a dual l5 or l7 setup. I know both of them get pretty loud but i dont know yet. which one of them sounds better (in your opinion of course)? I have heard they both get loud but i want to know what one will sound better. any help will be appreciated. thanks!

I love my L7s man... you cant go wrong with the SPL side of it, the SQ isnt nearly as bad as people say it is either.. i love these subs man.

I'd say the L7's. I've heared the L7's and they get reallllly loud but never heared the L5's. You want the bigger brother, right?

i think i could get a pair of 'em on ebay for between 325-375$. how much space each would they need.. i only got like 3.5 cubes after port and driver displacements

mines like 7cubes external, 5.3 internal, tuned to 40hz but im sure u can go smaller.

I'm not satisfied with my L7's. I have them running off a BX1500D and they're not loud enough for me....I'm waiting on a ported box right now tho so maybe that will help.

yea get a ported box and a new amp man... L7s arent nearly as loud as they should be without a portex box.. dont diss em if u dont have them set up right.

basically the l-5 is the first yr l-7 but with a stamped frame. biggest diff is power. have a smaller amp go l-5

L7 sounds better ...

Sure does. In my own experience CompVrs hit as good if not better than the L5s. Kinda weird. BUT the L7s are truely pretty loud and will shake you sh** in the car. 2 cubes will be kinda small for a vented box. but if thats all u got than go for it.

10s? 12s? 15s? i think kicker recommends a little over 2cu per driver for ported..
