L5 slaping?

i have a 10'' l5 in 2cubes ported to 32hz. i am running it off a kicker kx 400.1 amp. my gains are prolly not even at a quater of the way up. bass boost is at about half up. and frequency hz is around liek 40 i believe.

whenever i turn it up on some song's that it prolly hits hard on it makes a slaping noise or popping noise.

what does the frequency hz do exactly could that be why? i have kinda been messing with the settings to get it to stop.

bass boost, turn it all the way down and/or off, then let me know if you have that sound still.

turn bass boost off and set your gains with a DMM.

bass boost makes everything sound like total ***.

Digital Multimeter = DMM.....well at least i think thats what its called

can pick them up fairly cheap... and are a very wise investment to make, especially when running high end audio... you never want a clipped signal.. or bass boost for that matter

Why don't you either 1. set the gains correctly and turn bass boost off. or 2. Turn gains all the way down then reset them up to the point where the sub don't make the slaping noise.

SSF might be set too high, Box volume might be too large....and L5's / L7's have a nasty habit of having lead slap problems....some foam tape would cure that though.
