L5 15's vs. L7 12's

Ok, a buddy of mine has a couple hundred dollars to work with and I, being the kicker sub fan that I am, recommended Kicker subs. He has a Viper 1200d and was thinking about an L7 15. I, then, talked him into this idea-2 L5 15's or 2 L7 12's. He has an suv so these would be in the correct sized box. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each and which would you rather have?

give the same power, the L5 15's will be louder, but the box will be bigger...me, I'd do the 12's in a low tuned, ported box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
