My kx2500 has went into protect a time or two since I've had it but really only when I did long bass sweeps. But the other day it started doin it on regular songs. My voltage isn't really droppin any lower than what it usually does. I'm guessin it is goin into protect it might actually be turning off. I dont really know bc I just noticed that my protection light is gone.

But about 3 seconds after the bass hits it will shut off and it stays off for a while. Not minutes at a time but alot longer than it usually does and longer than I would expect.

I was running it at 1 ohm so I thought that maybe a mixture of 1 ohm load and the really hot heat was getting to it. So I hooked up just one L7 so it would be a 2 ohm load and it did the same thing.

Ive done the big 3 in 0 guage. Kinetik 2400 in the trunk. 0 guage running from battery under hood to the kinetik. Battery grounded in trunk. 0 guage power wire running from kinetik to kx2500. 0 guage ground running from kinetik to kx2500.

Only thing I found that could be the problem was on the kinetiks ground. The side that is actually grounded to the car is fine....but the other side of the 0 guage that bolts down to the negative on the battery was loose. The ring terminal on the wire was really loose. I could wiggle it easily and i pulled on it barely and the ring terminal came off of the wire.

Now I say it was very loose, which it was but it looked like that even if it wiggled the wire would still be touching the ring terminal.

Do you think this could be the problem? I'm about to go try to sodder it on so maybe it wont be loose.

well got it fixed.

It was my fuse thats goin from my kinetik to my amp. One side was between the little washer and screw instead of being under the washer....I guess it was shorting out or somethin like that. It burt the entire end of the fuse and it was smokin real bad.

So I took the fuse out and put it under the washer and it stopped smokin and the amp is not shutting off anymore. Probably just the brand of fuse....audiopipe haha
