I bought it to a local car audio shop today.

The guy inside was laughing at me because he thought it was scrap metal / aluminum, and he thought his Stinger 8 gauge was better.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

Then I was like "LOL U IDIOT."

I want to go back there and mouth the guy off with the wire in my hand first.

I need to be educated first.

I know its oxygen free copper, but why is it silver colour, not copper colour?

And is it tinned copper or pure copper?

Whats better, Kolossus Fleks or Stinger (4000 strand) pure copper wire?:

it's tinned copper, so it's the tin that's making it look silver
Edit: you can always tell him it's made out of silver, which is a superconductor and will own his puny Stinger wires
**** that, tell him its platinum, its an even better conductor..........just not under normal temperatures;)

I know its oxygen free copper, but why is it silver colour, not copper colour? OFC copper makes no difference in car audio. It is silver in color because it is tinned. Tinned wire does not corrode as easily as bare copper. They use tinned copper in marine applications due to the salty enviroment.

And is it tinned copper or pure copper? The pure copper is tinned. See above post.

Whats better, Kolossus Fleks or Stinger (4000 strand) pure copper wire? I don't know if one is technically better than the other but the Knu Flex has more strands than the Stinger. I don't know what the AWG of the Stinger strands is but I believe Knu's is 32 AWG.:
As already stated, hit him in the mouth with the Knu Flex wire.

Knu's KLM wire is aluminum clad wire, which is lesser in quality to their Flex cable.

id just bring him a 2" piece of the wire and tell him its copper tinned 0awg wire. tell him you got it new for like $2\ft and he can eat it if he likes. and leave it on the counter.

print, own, repeat.

Model------------------KOL1/0-------------- Stinger 0

Outer Dia-------------0.625”----------------N/A

Strand Gauge--------36 AWG--------------36 AWG

No. Of Strands-------5145------------------4284

Material----------------Tinned OFC----------Tinned OFC

Surface Area----------66.885mm^2-------55.692mm^2

Diameter---------------10.659mm-----------9.726mm

AWG Equivalent------ 2/0 AWG ------------0 AWG

if he clowned on the wire being tinned (silver) he is a tool. the tinning preserves conductivity by prventing surface oxidation.

I've been using Knu Collosus cable for years. The idiot at the shop is why most of them have gone out of business. They treat the customers like they are morons and try to make everyone believe "only the products they sell" are the best.

If they push the product they sell without defaming other products, then they would be better off. Spare yourself the aggrevation and stay away from them.............Unless they have a comp. Then go back and show them what your wire and system can do.
