Take a look at all the great players of the NBA, you can be a great individual player, but one player cant lead a team to championship, and if you say one player can, your full of shit. Look at MJ, O'Neal, Bird, Nash, Nowitzki. Their all great players, When they want to, they can take over a game invidually and dominate on their own. But what makes them great, is the fact that they make everyone else on the team such a better player, why? They have leadership, and they have chemistry. Nash makes the suns a way better team when hes in the lineup, Marion, Stoudamire, Barbosa, they all play like superstars. MJ, he made scotty pippen a top 50 player, and made everyone else on those teams such a better player. O'neal, hes such a force he takes 2 guys to cover, when you demand the attention such as Ben Wallace and rasheed such as icetee said, that automatically makes your team better, look what it did for wade, it opened the middle lane for him and he dominated. He had this affect for Kobe in L.A. But look it now, Kobe is a one man team. He's not a leader, if he was truly a great player, the Lakers would be a great team and the player would be better with having Kobe to play with. All Kobe is concerned with is $$, his ego, and how many points he gets a night. A truly great player isnt defined by how many points they score a night, but how they affect the rest of their team and lead. And when Bryant finally leads his team to a championship without a big man like shaq, then he can be considered great.
