Does anyone know how good the casing on the KLM wiring holds up against oil and diesel fuel? My main question is if it is DOT approved to use as battery cables?

Dude I use it and is such a good wire....did my big 3 with it and don't have a problem

use a jacket for it when around hot thing just for safety I guess but you don't have to

Cable uses PVC jacket like our other lines. Theres only so many materials you can possibly use. PVC is the most popular and common. Welding wire uses neoprene and I would stay away from that material in a wet/damp enviroment.

My KLM 1/0 has been holding up great under my hood for MONTHS now. It is run from the pos batt. terminal to my distroblock inside the car through the firewall, and the jacket is very strong.

Good to hear. I've been using it for about a week, and I have it ran under my car, as opposed to running it through my car, and it's holding up great. I've been looking for a high thread count cable that I can buy for pretty cheap (Thanks, KnuKonceptz. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ), and it be able to hold up against the Diesel fuel, and oils.

Could also wrap it in some split loom if you're that worried...

Wasn't really worried, just needed to know. I am although adding wire loom to it, 'cause I'm keeping my truck all black.
