KnuKoncepts CCA oversized wire

So I ordered a bunch of new wire n such to upgrade to 1/0 and I noticed that they use copper clad aluminum and just oversize the cable to make up for the difference in conductivity. Am I going to have a problem fitting this into the + and - terminals on my amplifiers. Also is this wire stiffer or more brittle?

you will most likely need to strip some of the wire back.

i couldnt get my kollosus kable into my 20.1 or my kx2500's 1/0 terminals. shits just too big. not that, thats a bad thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

stripping back some wire wont hurt anything, so just do that until it fits in the terminal.

I don't know what you're doing, but my kollosus fitted in my 20.1 perfectly fine, fits in my 1500D too.
cca and kollosus are 2 totally different wires //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

KLM will be just fine and flexible, just might have to shave it a little bit like IgnoreMe said... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

same size though.....if you read the detailed description

KnuKonceptz continues to blaze new trails for automotive audio

enthusiasts with its new Copper Clad Aluminum Cable dubbed “KLM”.

Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA) is made up of 90% Aluminum and 10%

Copper. While an aluminum conductor has a higher resistance then a

copper conductor of the SAME size, when oversized it can yield the

same resistance per foot as copper. By making a “Kolossus” CCA cable

we are able to provide the same level performance found in standard

copper cables at a fraction of the price.

Overview:

The new KLM 1/0 is built to the same spec as our Kolossus 1/0 Kable

The KLM 1/0 Kable will support loads ranging from 200-250A

Offered in the same Metallic Blue and Silver Pearl Jacket as the eKo

Common questions surrounding the KLM Kable:

Why hasn’t Copper Clad Aluminum been used before?

In previous years Copper has been a very affordable and stable metal.

Over the last year, its demand has caused a huge increase in price of

the raw material. As a result, the cost and performance of the CCA

makes it a logical replacement for the now unstable copper market.

Is CCA really equivalent to Copper?

By making our KLM Kable to the spec of our Kolossus Kable, we have

increased the area by 30% over the standard 1/0 cable. At lengths of

20 feet or less, this added material will allow our KLM Kable to perform

like any other standard 1/0 Oxygen Free Cable

Would Aluminum perform the same without the copper?

Aluminum by it self is brittle, the copper adds flexibility to the cable.

The additional copper will also improve resistance over standard AL

and protects the AL from oxidizing. Aluminum exposed to excessive

moisture will oxidize faster then copper. As an added precaution, we

now include small tubes of Dielectric Grease with every purchase of a

KLM model product – Dielectric Grease is used to seal out moisture at

connection points. This is merely an extra precaution to prevent

oxidation from occurring and should be used at any external

connection point.

Overall flexibility of the cable is just like any other KnuKonceptz

product of equal size.

i had to jam it in their pretty good. i got away with not shaving it down, but i didnt like the way it sat in the terminal because it made the perimeter of the wire compress and some strands would sit a teeny bit outside the terminal.
